It has been WAY too long since I have updated memory verses. I am sorry . . . but we can never read too much of God’s Word in one day, so here’s a full-fledged update! 🙂
Romans 8:13-20
13 – For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14 – For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 – For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 – The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 – And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18 – For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19 – For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
20 – For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
Psalm 101:1-8
1 – I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O LORD, will I sing.
2 – I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.
3 – I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.
4 – A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person.
5 – Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.
6 – Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.
7 – He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.
8 – I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the LORD.
Psalm 37:3-8
3 – Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 – Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 – Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
6 – And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
7 – Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
8 – Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
These were beautiful verses and thoughts, Amanda! May God help us to all hide His Word in our hearts. I remember in \”The Hiding Place\” by Corrie Ten Boom – when they were arrested, they had no Bible; but Corrie's papa had memorized so much of the Bible that he could recount it for others. It was a huge blessing for him, his family, and the people around them in prison. Thank you, Amanda, for sharing these verses and thoughts with us!Love,Patience

Thank you, Patience. What a wonderful testimony of how God blessed one man's dedication to memorizing the Bible! It is a comfort to know that God will bring His Word to our mind in time of trial. As I was writing a letter to a friend the other day, I realized that we will never look back and say, \”I wish I hadn't memorized/read so much of God's Word.\” NO! We will say, \”I wish I had done it MORE!!!!\” May we always strive to have that before us.~Amanda
