The M Family | Photoshoot

Believe it or not, I still DO do this thing called photography. Actually, let me pause a moment and just reflect. Year before last, when we were building our house, I was unable to teach music much (I had maybe six students) and that was barely enough to cover bills. Without my advertising or anything, the Lord landed multiple photography jobs in my lap–enough to provide for my needs the whole year. Wow! Then, as soon as I was able to start teaching more regularly (25-30 students), photography jobs dwindled. I can’t help but wonder if that was just God’s way of providing for me… and now that I’m too busy to really add the ball of photography into my juggling act, I don’t have near as many requests for photo shoots.
Now. This photo shoot. Their mom is my good friend, and so when baby #3 was coming along, I told her I’d do a photoshoot for the baby. She chose 3-month pictures (which, I think we may have slid into around the 4-month mark with schedule conflicts and all…) and really, baby D couldn’t be at a cuter stage. Of course, I’m kind of in love with this little guy anyway. I mean…
Yeah. You agree with me. He is ADORABLE. Completely. And totally sweet and cute and charming and all that. πŸ˜‰ Okay, okay… enough about my newest little favorite boy (I suppose until a nephew comes to claim his place πŸ˜‰ ).Β
If you’ve been following my blog for two years, it was a little more than two years ago I did a family photoshoot with them. They’re growing up!!
I mean… Miss K isn’t a little girl anymore! She’s growing up to be a beautiful young lady.

And little Miss A. She’s just as adorable, but two years ago, she still had a hint of toddler-face. Nope. She’s totally growing up!!

And the three of them together… ❀

These girls love their baby brother!!

I had a blast with them. Can’t you tell?Β
Here are some other pictures from the shoot. πŸ™‚

And a whole passel more of the lil’ man. πŸ˜‰

This next one… baby with his stuffed animal and daddy’s and late-grandpa’s stuffed toys. ❀
So sweet!!

“Got him!” πŸ˜‰

The C Family | Photoshoot

Yep. Another “C” family. πŸ˜‰ And yes, they’re also friends. πŸ™‚
I had a super fun time with a “mini-photoshoot” around Christmas. A family of boys. πŸ™‚ I don’t photograph those often, but they were real troopers and I *think* we all had fun! And, of course, an old train depot just added to the whole feel.

The C Family | Photoshoot

I have gone months without posting anything photography-wise. My apologies. Learning to juggle everything is a bit tough at times.

Last fall, I had the opportunity to take pictures of some friends up here. We had a little fun exploring the options of a private campground. I think my favorites were the creek pictures (down below)…

This next one… We were taking “Daddy-daughter pictures” then Maddalyn decided that she wanted to pose like her daddy. ❀

And this one…
They had a picture taken at their wedding in this pose and wanted to duplicate it. I thought that was precious!

And to finish… probably my favorite picture of the day. All-boy. All-country.

Daniel and Cassie | Engagement Pictures

Well this is a post WAY overdue. My brother, Daniel, got married in August. Beforehand, however, I got to do their engagement photos. Because of situations such as using his camera (Daniel has way better equipment than I), him having the pictures, needing to sort through them, them being on a honeymoon, etc…. I am just now getting the pictures here and ready to share them!

First of all, they’re one of the cutest couples I know. πŸ˜‰ I may or may not be a bit biased. πŸ˜‰

Second, doing their engagement session was a fun challenge because, during engagement, they didn’t touch. So there was no “huggy” pictures, yet we didn’t want the pictures to look stiff like, “I’m going to marry this person, but I’ll just keep my distance.” πŸ˜‰

These are their top picks. πŸ™‚

Emily | Photoshoot

Last fall, I did Emily’s senior pictures. Well, guess what? Here we are again with some cello fun! And boy did we have fun!Β
This. This is THE picture of the photoshoot!
And then there’s all these other beautiful pictures, because of my lovely subject. πŸ™‚

And yes, we did put ourselves in some danger for this one πŸ˜‰ Jump on the street when cars aren’t speeding through type thing…

If you were to have a photoshoot with your favorite instrument, what would it be?

Emilia | Photoshoot

A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of photographing an incredibly adorable little six-month-old. Meet Emilia.
And yes, that’s my pick of the 100+ images I took. πŸ™‚ So much story in that picture!
It truly is hard to pick “favorites” though…so here’s just a glimpse of all that cuteness!

She looks as if she’s just soaking in all that love!

Emily | Senior Photoshoot

That moment when you are going through pictures then realize that it is SO hard to narrow down to your few favorites!! I thoroughly enjoyed my time with my friend, Emily, doing her photoshoot! We met several years ago and now she’s graduating (fun fact, her family is the one who invited us up to the place where we now live!).
Since practically allΒ of these are my favorites, I really don’t have a top pick. The props they brought were so Emily and so fun to work with! So enjoy them all!

Kayla | Photoshoot (senior pictures)

A couple of weeks ago, I received a text message to the extent of, “Someone asked me to do their senior pictures and I can’t do it–will you?” Wouldn’t I? Of course!!

I was so, so grateful when the Lord “dropped” this senior photoshoot in my lap! A friend was unable to take the pictures so asked me to step in for her. Kayla and I met downtown and around just a couple of blocks and an hour, we had over 100 fantastic pictures!! It is so enjoyable to photograph photogenic people. I know that I had a blast walking downtown and snapping pictures!

Top Favorites
I am usually more of a close-up fan, but I love these two pictures!

Other Favorites
It was really, really hard to choose “just a couple” of favorites from Kayla’s photoshoot. So…here are some other favorites. πŸ™‚ Enjoy!

R Family | Photoshoot

My second photoshoot in April was of a family of boys. And did I have a blast with them! At first, the mom said, “You know how guys are with pictures,” but honestly, they were all super easy to work with and I think that whether or not they’d admit it, they also had some fun. πŸ™‚

And I can’t post about this family without sharing about God’s amazing work in their lives. Last February (2014), Tyler was out cutting trees. One kicked back and hit him in the back of his head and neck, causing traumatic brain injury. Quoting from his dad, “His brain was swelled and had three bruises on his brain stem. Three long weeks of ups and downs while in ICU. We know prayers were sent up on Tyler’s behalf and God chose to perform a great miracle in Tyler’s life. We are still thanking God and praising Him for what He has done. Thanks to all that have prayed and are continually praying for him.” This young man who was not supposed to live and ifΒ he lived, was doubted that he’d be able to walk …

Just saying… we serve a BIG GOD with no limitations! He is Creator, Sustainer, and Healer!

What a blessing to know this family who give God all praise and glory for His work in Tyler’s life!

Some of my favorite pictures are those that I didn’t ask to get. Being just a boy, Seth hopped on the “kiddie swing” – don’t do things like that around a photographer. πŸ˜‰ This is one of my favorites!!
