O Magnify the Lord With Me

A passage that I have been meditating on this week is Psalm 34:1-4:

1 I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
3 O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His Name together.
4 I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

And, every time that I quote those verses, one song comes to mind and I wanted to share it today.

Sure, we might be facing tough days and difficult moments, but our praise should continually be to God!

A Prudent Man

A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished. (Proverbs 22:3)
It is interesting to note that most often the opposite of a fool (who is made known by what/how often/how he speaks) is a prudent man. Prudent means “cunning” (Hebrew word aruwm). [There are other references for “prudent” in the Bible which uses a different Hebrew root word – I’m just looking at these few]
A fool’s wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame. (Proverbs 12:16)
A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness. (Proverbs 12:23)
Every prudent man dealeth with knowledge: but a fool layeth open his folly. (Proverbs 13:16)
The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit. (Proverbs 14:8)
The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going. (Proverbs 14:15)
The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge. (Proverbs 14:18)

Where am I Dwelling?

Yesterday morning in my Bible reading, I came across a passage that really challenged and encouraged me and wanted to share.

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.” (Psalm 91:1, 9-10)

Where am I dwelling? Where am I abiding? To dwell and abide in Christ does not mean to flee to Him only when there is trouble. It means that when trouble comes, I am already there, because I have learned to daily live under His shadow.

Perfect Peace

Continuing as two weeks ago, here is another picture verse! This time, I wasn’t playing with new layer styles. Instead, I tried my patience on erasing! 🙂 I wanted the background to be lighter and the foreground to “pop.” There is probably an easier way to do it, but I chose to erase the background (leaving only the barbed wire and grass), put a new gaussian-blurred background layer and then place a white layer on top (10% opacity). And then, one of my favorite verses.

As always, C&C welcomed!
Did this picture bring a specific verse to your mind?
(the other verse I was pondering was Isaiah 40:8)

His Way is Perfect

I enjoy playing around with photography and graphics designing, but don’t make time for it near as often as I’d like. I finally sat down to play with some Scripture Photos. This time, I was trying to learn a few things by trial and error with Photoshop’s {many} layers. Some of them gave a unique look that I’ve not used before. So, one picture, three styles (to see them full-sized, simply click on the picture).

Now, I’d like your opinion. Which style is your favorite?

And then, as I’m totally experimenting here, please give your input (if you are or are not a photographer)! Does anything look awkward? Any suggestions? You can be critical – I don’t mind. 😉

The Holy Spirit

In my Ephesians study, I came across chapter 4 verse 30, “And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.” This made me curious about the Holy Spirit. Some people misuse the Holy Spirit, others seem scared of it. I did a quick search for the word “Spirit” (capitalized to indicate the Holy Spirit) and was very interested in how much God has to say about His Spirit! I thought you might be interested as well. I encourage you to look up the references.

As always, feedback is welcome and I’d love to hear what the Lord has been showing you!

The sea is His, and He made it: and His hands formed the dry land. O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker. For He is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,
