Two Music Videos

Last weekend, our family did revival services at a church about 1 1/2 hours from us. What a blessing it was! Such a sweet spirit!
Some of you may or may not have heard my family sing. I’ve posted some videos on here before, but I really and honestly and truly love being able to still sing and play with my family–so why not share another song with my blog readers? πŸ˜‰ Being raised in a musical family has been a tremendous blessing! Sure, we have difficulties (like when your older siblings “grow up apart” from the music group and you have to completely revamp everything you do), but I wouldn’t trade it for anything!
I’d like to hear from you: does your family sing together? (even just “around the house for fun”)
And then, the usual Wednesday piano solo: Softly and TenderlyΒ (arranged for intermediate pianist)

New and Improved…

There have been a lot of projects I’ve been working on…but here are just two.
I now have an official author website: amandatero.com. If any of you like to get crazy writing updates (which may come five in a day or one in five days), I now have a Street Team Blog (since I know a lot of people aren’t on FaceBook).

And then, I just reworked our family website a little. The “About Us” is still sorely in need of updated pictures, but we don’t have those yet. If you’d like to find out a little more about my wonderful family, then check out our “new lookin'” blog! πŸ™‚

Elizabeth | Photoshoot

Sunday, my sister and I had about an hour to shoot some pictures together. It was about 4:00 when we started so the lighting was not ideal, but I enjoyed the challenge. Plus, I had fun – what a blessing it is to have family as best friends!
My Picks
As I was editing through the pictures, several really stood out to me which I just love! Here they are and a little bit of why I love them.
Black and white is not always my favorite. It just has to be that perfect picture to “pop” – this is probably my absolute favorite B&W that I have personally done.
Love the warm tones:
And then there is my favorite location: the new chicken coop. πŸ™‚Β

(And in case it sounds funny that I’m all about the “style” of the photo and not the subject, yeah, I do like the subject too ;))
For Your Enjoyment
And there were many more pictures that we liked. Some of them I did not particularly care for how the lighting turned out (considering we had to dodge sun spots) but it was a good learning experience for me.

Experiments
There is this soft glow look that is really popular. It isn’t my favorite for everything, but I did want to catch a little sun-glare. It does give a nice “dreamy” feel but I was sad when I discovered that I made one of the most common photography mistakes: it looks like she is “eating” the plant (note to self: remember to check for trees growing out of heads, elbows being cut off, etc., etc., etc.).

Next time, I’ll share about the little “photobomb” we had. πŸ™‚

Bow the Knee (Tero Family video)

Here is another video we took at the Bible conference. My sister, Elizabeth, is singing “Bow the Knee.” The words are amazing – if you have a few minutes, please listen!

By way of testimony, this past Sunday, our family was blessed to sing at Lanier Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, LA. We had an amazing time with this church! Such a sweet, sweet spirit! We sang about eight songs and then Pastor Mike brought a message from Philippians 2. We had already been asked to sing a song for invitation and had decided upon “Bow the Knee.” As I sat there, listening to Bro. Mike reading through and expounding on Philippians 2, I was again amazed at how God worked. Before we knew what the message was, He laid it on our hearts to have a song which so beautifully fit in with the message. I’ll never stop being amazed at how God works!

“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”

People Need the Lord

This past week, my family and I had an extremely blessed time at our local Bible Conference. We worked up a few new songs for the week. Here is one of them: ever hear “People Need the Lord” with banjo? It actually works! πŸ˜‰

Vocalists: Amanda (tenor), Elizabeth (soprano), Joanna (alto)
Instrumentalists: Samuel (bajo), Timothy (bass guitar), Rebecca (classical guitar)
